Wair is a Copenhagen-based start-up making upcycled sneakers using denim and textile waste materials.
Made from discarded textiles.
Take-back scheme for material to be reused.
Production
In an effort to reduce waste, textile cut-offs from productions are used for design details on shoes. All suppliers are located in the EU to reduce transport emissions.
Use
Water-based glue allows the sole and upper part of the shoe to be replaced and reconnected if one part breaks to prolong its lifetime.
Closing the loop
Shoes can be taken back and shredded as material for new soles.
